USA E2

The USA E-2 Employment Second Preference visa offers non-immigrant status to foreign entrepreneurs aiming to work and invest in the United States. It is accessible to nationals of specific treaty countries with the US, who can demonstrate substantial investment or active investment plans in a US-based business.

One significant benefit of the USA E-2 visa is that it permits the visa holder's spouse and dependents to join them in the US, with the spouse eligible to seek employment and dependents allowed to attend school. Applicants must submit a detailed business plan outlining their investment project, including technical specifications and financial projections, and demonstrate they have secured or are in the process of securing the necessary investment capital.

Although the USA E-2 visa does not lead directly to permanent residency, it can be renewed indefinitely provided visa criteria continue to be met. While there is no legally mandated minimum investment, a customary range of $100,000 to $200,000 is often considered appropriate. Additionally, applicants must maintain a controlling interest in the US business they establish or operate under this visa.

Investment Requirement:

To qualify for the E-2 visa, the investor must be a national of one of the treaty countries, such as Pakistan. While the US Government does not stipulate a minimum investment amount, the investment must be substantial and proportionate to the proposed business.

Additionally, the investor must hold at least a 50% ownership stake in the enterprise or possess operational control through a senior managerial position.

Benefits:

Under the E-2 visa, investors can establish, manage, and oversee operations of their business in the United States.

The spouse of an E-2 investor qualifies for an E-2 dependent visa, which includes the option to apply for a temporary work permit or Employment Authorization Document (EAD).

Children under 21 years of age are also eligible for E-2 dependent visas, allowing them to attend schools of their choice in the United States.

Visa Validity:

Initially, E-2 visa holders are permitted a maximum stay of two years in the United States.

Extensions of the E-2 visa are possible, with increments of up to two years per extension. There is no limit on the number of extensions that can be requested.

Eligible Family Members:

Spouse

Children under the age of 21 years
